Case Study

Driving a Culture of Empowerment based on Trust in a Global Consumer Goods Organization

Context

  • A multinational company dedicated to the manufacture, marketing and distribution of beverages and snacks.

  • Global presence, more than 260,000 employees, and revenues for more than 50 billion euros.

  • Sophisticated matrix environment where collaboration and agility were needed to drive execution.

  • The company had 2 big challenges in order to make the model work: slow decision making due to lack of  empowerment and lack of deep collaboration due to lack of trust.

Approach

  • Co-designed together with Learning and Development two different modules of 1 day on Empowerment and Trust.

  • Deliver the program in the Company’s core European market.

  • Develop a training manual in order to roll out the program internally.

  • Support the training of internal resources to make sure the program could be cascaded internally at high quality.

Results

  • Evolution on leaders mindset and behaviors.

  • Development of new capabilities based on practical tools to address both challenges.

  • Significant increase on engagement particularly in the case of internal trainers.
